Exceptional communication skills are the bedrock of successful business practices because they create a positive and productive work environment. Our Classes

  • Every job, in every industry, includes some component of customer service. The customer might be the general public, a service provider, or your colleagues in other departments. Knowing how to provide high-quality customer service will ensure you are building strong business relationships and improving your organization's productivity and reputation.

This course teaches participants the four foundational elements required to communicate effectively and clearly: showing up at one’s best, listening carefully, understanding, and being understood. During this course, learners explore the research behind effective communication practices to help them refine their communication skills and ensure their intended message is heard. Participants learn and practice the evidence-based tool of reflective listening to sharpen their customer service skills during conversations, conflicts, and everyday interactions.

  • Emotional Intelligence (EI) is the ability to be aware of, control, and express your emotions, as well as to handle interpersonal relationships judiciously and empathetically. Understanding EI improves self-awareness, increases accountability, fosters communication, and builds trusting and productive relationships in the workplace. Effective leadership or being a great team member is heavily impacted by EI: everyone benefits by becoming more intelligent about emotions.

During this course, participants discover the five components of emotional intelligence according to the work of Daniel Goleman. Jamie guides participants through the basics of EI, helping learners recognize behaviors associated with a highly developed emotional intelligence. These characteristics are associated with self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship management. Participants also explore the five keys to successful conversations (which reflect the five components of emotional intelligence) and create a personal plan to grow their skills around EI.

  • Training is most effective when learners can successfully apply, outside of the classroom, the knowledge that they have accrued throughout the training process. Many staff members today are asked to present and train others on material where they have subject matter expertise—which sounds fine, until we reflect that most of these staff members have themselves never received training on how to give an effective presentation or how to expertly transfer their knowledge.

During this course, novice trainers gain a strong foundation in critical training skills, while seasoned trainers learn new approaches that lead to more impactful, compelling instruction for even the most veteran presenters. This course emphasizes the processes that facilitate a successful and effective classroom experience, highlights best practices in training, clarifies the difference between target and task, and defines the needs specific to your company or organization. Participants also learn how to effectively manage students, engage a variety of learning styles, and create a positive learning environment while simultaneously regulating classroom challenges.

  • This course combines the evidence-based practices of interpersonal neurobiology with integral communication models such as Non-Violent Communication (NVC) and Motivational Interviewing to teach participants respectful, collaborative communication strategies. This systemic approach teaches the communicator how to listen empathetically, acknowledge others’ needs, construct behavior modification requests, and/or generate greater sales. Participants learn how to listen effectively, discover limiting beliefs, dispel labels, define the window of somatic tolerance, investigate the difference between impact and intention, and more. This course enhances every participant’s idea of what it means to be heard and respected and empowers them to communicate effectively through the identification of core needs.

  • Reflective listening is a communication technique used to actively listen, understand, and process information. It improves communication and understanding by validating the other person's feelings and contributing to a calmer, more positive atmosphere.

In this comprehensive course, participants learn about the importance of reflective listening with colleagues and customers and how this practice will help them build meaningful business relationships. Learners are introduced to a range of techniques and strategies they can apply in their work and personal lives. Participants have the chance to practice key techniques for reflective listening, including noticing and using non-verbal cues, asking open-ended questions, withholding judgment and advice, and more.

  • Are you aware that there are multiple distinct learning and communication styles, and that they present a diversity issue within organizations? When someone is skilled at shifting their approach according to the communication style of their audience, their results are dramatically improved. This course is based on neurobiology, specifically brain science showing how people talk and listen, which impacts how a listener receives what you are trying to say. Communication styles impact the effectiveness of meetings, one-on-ones, and those quick moments at the water cooler. All of these interactions help or hinder your organization’s success, time management, and workplace culture.

In this course, participants learn how to immediately identify the learning and communication style of the person or people they are talking to. This helps you meet that person where they are by shifting your language in small, subtle ways. Jamie has taught thousands of learners this simple technique that they were able to apply immediately, and he has heard from hundreds of past participants how this course has improved their relationships at home and in the workplace.
